Maximus has quite a story! His owner was hospitalized and he ended up taken to the city shelter by a family member who reported him to be 13. Emaciated, super long nails, very old, he didn't get much interest. And so he sat. We felt terrible that a senior was going to spend his final time in the shelter system. We decided to bring him into Kodi's Club and made an appointment for our vet to do a senior profile, remove a plastic tab stuck on a molar, address those nasty nails, and give us a prognosis. When she went to examine where the tab was, she commented, there is no way this dog is a senior! Check out those teeth on him! There's nothing old about this boy. His foster mom has been telling us about how energetic he is, but we believed the paperwork! We think the intake window meant to type 3 and accidently typed 13. His whole future changed! Maximus is crate trained, house broken, loves kongs, loves to investigate on leash, and is a TALL kid! He's super thin now, at 59 lbs but once we cover up those ribs and hip bones, this very sweet, gentle boy will be a presence! We see Rottie in him, but aren't sure about what he's mixed with!
